Saturday 12th March
Paintball
Saturday morning finds me feeling rough. After breakfast we're off en convoy to the next event.
We get to the desolate car park in the middle of some fields and are joined by some other friends. It becomes evident to Sid that we are doing Paintball. We are joined by two other groups and two teams are randomly chosen.
The first challenge is to retrieve a briefcase from a derelict plane fuselage and carry it to the enemy camp (for reasons that are not too clear). I am so amazed to actually get the case, that I am quickly shot and out of this round. Another round of this and on to the next task – the stockade. Here the teams take turns to defend an ‘armoured’ encampment and the others attack. The final game is the traditional flags game.
To use up the remaining ammo, we have a stag shoot – here the stags (incl Sid) and their best men (incl Jez and Stick) have to run back and forth between two trees, whilst everyone else has pot-shots at a reasonable distance.
No photos, I’m afraid, as it wasn’t a camera friendly environment. I gained a few bruises and Sid got (at least) an couple of impressive wields on his legs.
On to the next event.
